FoodShare South Carolina Announced Price Changes

Since FoodShare South Carolina’s founding in 2015, our mission has been to provide affordable access to healthy fruits and vegetables.

Now, with the continued rise of food prices, we find ourselves at a difficult crossroads. In order to keep up with the rising costs, FoodShare has decided to increase the price of both small and large boxes. FoodShare customers across South Carolina can expect to see the same high quality produce with a greater variety and quantity of items once the change is in effect.

Beginning in November of 2022, across the state the price of the SMALL FRESH FOOD BOX will increase to $20 and the LARGE FRESH FOOD BOX will increase to $25. Also in response to rising food costs, South Carolina DSS has increased the Healthy Bucks match for a box to $15. With this, SMALL boxes will remain $5 on EBT with LARGE boxes remaining $10 on EBT.

FoodShare South Carolina in Columbia will also introduce a new $15 No Cook Box, available to all customers. Our No Cook Box provides healthy fruits and vegetables that require no or minimal preparation to give you a healthy snack or contribute to a full meal.

Should you have any questions, comments, or concerns, we urge you to contact us. We will continue to be the source of fresh food for all, no matter where you live or how much you make, in South Carolina.
