You can help make healthy food available.
It was announced on Nov. 13, 2025 that SC SNAP benefits would begin to be disbursed this week. Even with this development, many in our State find it difficult to put food on the table.
By donating today, you are not only helping vulnerable South Carolinians—you are investing in the health and stability of our entire state. With every dollar, we help maintain food-security, keep dollars circulating in local stores and farms, and reduce the burdens on health and social services.
Every $15 donation received will allow a household to continue to access the Fresh Food Box for only $5 cash if their SNAP benefits are limited. For $5, households will be able to access a 20-pound box of fresh fruits and vegetables that would cost many times that in the grocery store.
Your compassion and action matter now more than ever. Together, we can ensure that the safety net remains intact for individuals and families in South Carolina who count on it. We believe in a community where no one goes hungry simply because of bureaucracy, policy change, or circumstance. With your help, we can make that belief real.
FoodShare South Carolina has the opportunity to make healthy eating easier for the parent who is working two jobs, the senior managing a fixed income, and the folks on the income margins who are just trying to make ends meet. We are fueled by the stories of our participants who are bringing their chronic illnesses like diabetes under control through the Fresh Food Box and the testimonies of our friends who are addressing life’s other barriers as their food access becomes secure. Your contribution would bring us one step closer to closing the gap in food and health inequity in South Carolina.
